TEHRAN – Promoted Rah Ahan trainer Firuz Karimi due to poor results was axed here Saturday.

The Railway Company’s Rah Ahan Sports-Cultural Club in a press release announced that the team’s lackluster performance in the fifth Iran Pro League (IPL) was unexpected, prompting it to oust the head coach Karimi.

Rah Ahan is 13th in the 16-strong league on 24 points out of 24 games.

The outspoken Karimi coached the team for nearly two seasons.
